Celebration

Celebration is one of two poems that were selections (in different years) of Your Daily Poem, which sends a poem each day to email subscribers. This is a wonderful site created by poet Jayne Jaudon Ferrer to, in her words, “share the pleasure of poetry.” Each day, one poem is sent to a list of email subscribers and added to a searchable website of poetry. More than 700 poets, both famous and not so famous, are represented.

Celebration

When you get to where you are going,

And you will,

Celebrate it,

Sing it,

Take wing and BE it.

Let the feeling sink into your marrow

Then, with joy in your soul

Look down the long hallway of your life.

You will see a door

Adorned with sparkles and draped with party streamers.

This is your next goal.

Go forward with glee.
