Changing Reflection
I saw myself as in a mirror
Formed of expectation
And from the body in this silvered glass
I sculpted who I was
Straight and well behaved was I…
My reflection bore witness
Yet beneath the glass and silver fused
Somewhere far within
My difference shone
I saw myself as in a mirror
Its surface cracked by life ‘til
Through the widening gaps my shining difference
Oozed
I watched it stain the luster of the silvered glass
Chagrined
Until I recognized its shine
As the gift I brought Creation
Now I know myself as different
And I see the difference in you
And I know our difference is our Oneness
The silvered mirrors that reflect us
Send new light to All That Is
